Plain Language Recommendations

Audio description must be provided for all prerecorded video content in synchronized media. (Note: Only required if the video conveys content visually that is not available in the default audio track.)

Notes

  1. This standard IS NOT required for media alternatives.
  2. This standard is NOT a legal requirement under AODA.
  3. Audio description of an audio track is narration added to the soundtrack to describe important visual details that cannot be understood from the main soundtrack alone.
