Pause, Stop, Hide (2.2.2 – A)

Plain Language Recommendations

Automatically updating content (e.g., automatically redirecting or refreshing a page, a news ticker, AJAX updated field, a notification alert, etc.) must be able to be paused, stopped, or hidden by the user, or the user must be able to manually control the timing of the updates (unless this content is essential). This only applies to content that is presented in parallel with other content.

WCAG 2.0 Recommendations
