Plain Language Recommendations

For all user interface components (forms, links, components generated by scripts, etc.),

  • the name and role must be able to be programmatically determined;
  • states, properties, and values that can be set by the user must be programmatically set; and
  • notification of changes to these items must be available to user agents, including assistive technologies.
